Internet & Electronic Resource Use Policy

The computers in the library are for educational, informational and recreational purposes only, and each computer has been set up to access only specific electronic resources.

The Internet computers are available on a first-come first–served basis.  You may use a General Use computer for 30 minutes per session.  If no one else is waiting, you may use a computer for additional sessions not to exceed a total of 2 hours per day.  E-Mail Express computers will be limited to 15 minutes per session.

Parents of minor children must assume responsibility for and monitor their children’s Internet use.

Lincoln Library assumes no liability for accuracy of information gained through the Internet, any loss or damage of data, or for damage or injury arising from invasion of privacy in computer accounts, programs, or files, or in the case of minor children, for their access to inappropriate images or other materials.

Library staff cannot provide individualized, in-depth training.  As time allows, staff may however, be able to offer searching suggestions and answer questions.

The fee for printing is 25 cents per page.

Inappropriate Use of Computers

The computers may not be used for unauthorized, illegal, or unethical purposes.  Inappropriate use of the library’s computers and electronic resources may result in the loss of your computer and/or library privileges. A complete list of inappropriate uses is outlined in the Revocation of Computer/Library Privileges policy. Copies of the policy are available upon request.

Some examples of inappropriate use include, but are not limited to:
