Purpose of Meeting

The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance is partnering with the Lincoln Library to host a series of lunch & learn workshops throughout the summer. The four-part series will showcase the numerous tools and resources available for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The workshops are aimed at providing valuable insights and practical guidance on how to successfully use library resources to grow and aid your business.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND.

Event Details

Time - 12:00-1:00pm - All workshops will start promptly at 12pm. Lunch will be served at the start of a 40-minute presentation with time for questions at the end.

Location - All workshops will be held at the Lincoln Library in the Multipurpose Room.

About the Workshops

May 10th: An Overview of Lincoln Library Resources for Businesses and Entrepreneurs - COMPLETE

If you haven’t been to Lincoln Library in a while, it’s a good time to come and check out all that they have to offer to small businesses. Director Summer Griffith will share an overview of resources from innovative technology to online tools available to you for free with a Library Card.  The presentation will end with a short tour, so you can always find what you’re looking for.

June 14th: Owners and Operators: Researching Real Estate in Springfield- COMPLETE

Have you ever wanted to know who owned a house or operated a business at a specific location in Springfield and Sangamon County?  City Historian Curtis Mann will discuss the different resources in the Sangamon Valley Collection at Lincoln Library available to research the history of residential and commercial property in Springfield and Sangamon County.  Mann will explain and provide tips for working with records such as city directories, maps, newspapers, and photographs.

July 12th: Library E-Resources for Businesses and Entrepreneurs- COMPLETE
