The Lincoln Library Foundation was established in 1991 for purposes charitable, literary, and educational. The Foundation focuses attention on public library services in Springfield and encourages development of Lincoln Library's collections through individual gifts, endowments and bequests. The Foundation accepts contributions for books in memory of someone or in honor of individuals and events.
The Foundation also oversees memorial and gift funds that have been established over the years. Currently there are more than 50 such funds.
