Family information about grocer Jacob Bunn Sr. (1814-97) and his younger brother John Whitfield Bunn (1831-1920).The Bunns’ enterprises, together or singly, eventually included grocery, banking, insurance, intercity and intracity railroads, newspapers and such industries as the Illinois Watch Co. and the Springfield Iron Co., Marine Bank, Sangamo Electric, and Bunn-O-Matic. They also were involved in a variety of civic causes.
