Prairie Arts Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America Collection

The Prairie Arts Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America was established in Springfield in 1985. They were part of the Heartland region. The chapter members participated in competitions, held workshops and demonstrations, created displays, met monthly, produced a monthly newsletter, and participated in regional and national EGA events. One of their community projects was constructing linens and soft furnishings for the Dana Thomas House restoration 1987-1990. They annually decorated a tree for Festival of Trees. As of 2017, PAC is an active group.

The collections includes the chapter’s history, correspondence, news articles, invoices, program materials, book and equipment inventory, membership information, photo scrapbook pages, EGA materials, Heartland Regional materials, and PCA monthly newsletter “Needle News” from 1985-2014.
