Join us for our first book club meeting of 2025! This space is for all readers to share & learn about the Black experience, and discuss books by Black authors that reflect that perspective.

Kindred, by Octavia Butler, answers the question of what happens when a modern black woman from California is pulled back in time and space to Maryland in the early 1800s. She discovers the purpose is to rescue her distant white ancestor.  This is a groundbreaking science fiction novel that blends elements of historical fiction and time travel.
