Join us for our book club, discussing books by Black authors. We are creating this space for all readers to share & learn about the Black experience, and books that reflect that perspective.
Go Tell It On The Mountain, first published in 1953, is Baldwin's first major work, a semi-autobiographical novel that has established itself as an American classic. Baldwin describes the course of the fourteenth birthday of John Grimes in Harlem, 1935. At the heart of the story three main conflicts intertwine: a clash between father and son, a coming-of-age struggle, and a religious crisis.
